Olympic Distance Triathlon Breakdown
Well, it was a good day, definitely better than I expected! I finished in 3:35:38 with a 48:27 swim, 1:34:19 bike and 1:05:17 run. I was very pleased with the bike and run, I expected to run 11:30 miles and instead ran 10:30 miles a huge bonus! The swim was the same sad story on a different day, but I will not let it defeat me, I will get better… technique drills will be in order for the next 4 months while I build for the Boise 70.3, I have not signed up yet but plan to as soon as registration opens on September 1 (EST). In addition to the swimming techniques, I have got to figure out the pre-race eating, I have yet to get it right…
All in all it was a fabulous day, BT was there to cheer me on and I had 2 sisters, a brother-in-law and 2 good friends on the course with me, it was so much fun! I love that I was able to see each of them at different times throughout the race, it gave me more to look forward to than just the finish line! Anne signed up for a post race massage, I think I am going to do that from here on out, I thought it looked like a fabulous idea!!

do you have a swim coach, or work out with a team? if you don’t, then you should. that’s an easy way to take 12-15 minutes off your swim. it’ll come in handy for the 70.3 too. swimming, as you probly know, is all technique. up till about the 24-minute mile, i’d say, is all technique.
All I gotta say, is KUDOS to you! =) I am just now training for my first 1/2 marathon, so to see what you are doing is an inspiration. Thanks!
You ROCK Birdie!!! way to go…I can’t wait ’til I am as fast as you!!!
Nice job, way to kick your own bootie!!! Good luck with training for the 70.3!!
